Tuesday Morning Sketches #4

Here is Challenge #4 from Tuesday Morning Sketches. I've been trying to find a good use for this dog, and I think that I may have found it. I was thinking about using him next year, but when I saw the stars on the sketch, I thought I might as well just use him now.

Here is the wonderful sketch by Melissa:

Here is the card that I came up with.....

It is just a simple card with map pages in the back and then fire crackers after that.
Thanks for stopping by,
Maxine

Delightful Sketches #3/Cupcake Challenge 50

Here is a card that I made for Delightful Sketches #3 and Cupcake Challenge 50. This is what I pulled off of the Cupcake Challenge's website "Onto this weeks challenge which has been chosen by DT member Stephanie and she has a colour theme for you this week of Green, Pink, Brown and as Stephanie loves Animals & Flowers, she would also like to see these included on your creations". I tried to add a little bit of everything. I only had one animal though. I hope that was enough.
For the Delightful Sketches Challenge, we had to use this sketch:

Here is what I came up with......

I used the new in colors from Stampin' Up! and used my new hostess set. I just love that bird!!!
Thanks for looking,
Maxine

Whiff of Joy Challenge #39/Stampin' for the weekend wk6

I have entered this card in 2 challenges! How fun....
The first is Whiff of Joy Challenge #39 where this is what we had to do piercing. This was something new to me, and honestly I didn't know what it was! =) I had never heard of it before, so I looked at some of the other entries/inspiration cards and I got the gist of it. Piercing is something that I would have never done, or even thought of if it wasn't for this challenge. Thank you for teaching me something new.
The second is Stampin' for the Weekend week 6. For this one, we had to do what we could with the "Strawberries Dipped in Chocolate" theme. Red and Brown were the colors to use. When I first checked out the entries for this challenge they had 68 entries! Geeze these ladies don't fool around.=)
Now on to my card. This is what I have created for both these challenges....

This is my first time using this stamp. It took me longer to do the coloring and piercing than it did to make the whole card. I inked the edges with both red and brown to make it stand out a bit. I used regular card stock for the red and brown, and for the red polka dots and white I used my SU paper. I just got the polka dot paper and was so excited to use it. I used regular flowers and simple brads for the flowers.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #2

This week, we had a sketch by Melissa from Tuesday Morning Sketches. Here is her wonderful sketch:

This is what I came up with for my submission:

I tried to use all SU stuff and came close. The only thing that isn't SU is the ribbon and the brads. It was pretty easy to make, and I had lots of fun on this one. My favorite color is pink, so I went to town on this one with that color.

Thanks,
Maxine

A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 60

At A Spoon Full of Sugar, Debbie came up with this sketch:

This is my take on the sketch:

I had to play around with it a little. My first card was just not working. I had to keep looking for something that I was comfortable with, and I think that it turned out pretty good.
Thanks for looking,
Maxine

Delightful Sketches #2 Challenge/Stamp With Fun

This is a card that I am entering in two challenges.
Delightful Sketches is having their 2nd ChallengeI didn't find them in time for the first one, but I had enough time to join in for this round. We had to use the layout that was given.
Stamp With Fun is also having challenge #15. We either had to use shapes or punches. Since the layout that Delightfull Sketches had was covered with shapes, I decided to enter it in the Stamp with Fun challenge too.
Here is what I made:

It looks like a cute sketch, so I gave it a shot:

I used a digital stamp for the mouse, and created the cheese all on my own! I used popdots on both the mouse and the cheese, which you really can't see. The lighting is a little off on this one I know, but I will get it right one of these days. I was just excited to post mine on their blog.

Thanks,
Maxine

I WON ON SVGCUTS!!!!!!

I just won the $30 gift certificate on SVGcuts! I can't believe I won!!!!! Here is a copy of the comment I left on their website:

Oh my gosh I can't believe I won!!!!!! Me and my daughter were jumping up and down and screaming. Then she said "mommy wait what did you win?" It was funny.

I have just started scrapbooking and card making in March. I am brand new at this and got my Cricut in April for my birthday. When I got it, I bought the Sure Cuts Alot, and found your guys website. I've been following you guys since then. I use your cuts for many different things, and I make sure that my daughter gets to choose at least one project to do every week. She gets excited with every project, even if it is just cutting out a balloon or two.

Thank you so much for the chance to win free cuts. Uh I am so excited!!!!! Can you tell??? I must say, this came at a great time. I was getting so upset that I wasn't winning any challenges or that I had no followers on my blog, but I am happy now. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!

I am still so excited,
Maxine

For this Challenge, all we had to do was use stars and stripes. It didn't have to be patriotic. I found this challenge through another blogShe has such great work on her site. Here is my card. It's something simple for a birthday coming up.....
