Paperbag Album

Hello,
Here is the first paperbag album that I made with my daughter. We actually went to the YMCA together and made it with some of the other kids there. This was mine:

I used 2 paperbags and alternated between solid cardstock and designer paper. I used the Close to Cocoa, Holiday Lounge and Merry Moments Designer Series papers for my kits. Not all the kits had the same paper. I used my Christmas Punch, Patterned Pines, A Holly Jolly Christmas, and Temporada Navidena for my stamps. I wanted the kids to have a few to choose from. My daughter left some of her solid pages blank to write on though, so that is another option that the kids could have.
If you would like to buy one or more of these kits, I still have some available here. The come with the precut paper, ribbon and bags.
Thanks,
Maxine

Christmas Class, Christmas Class!!!!

Well, I have been a busy little bee for the past couple of weeks. I have been working on this and that, and well here is one of the classes that I have coming up.

I got the design for almost all of these from Gretchen, but I did make some changes here and there, and I created a girl elf to go with the boy. These are boxes for little Christmas goodies. They were a bit of work, but I've been working with migraines again, so that might have had something to do with it. If you are interested in taking the class, or have any questions feel free to email me for more information.
Thanks,
Maxine

Kraftin' Kimmie/Stampin' for the Weekend/ Wags 'n Whiskers/Greeting Farm

This is a card I whipped up for my nephew's upcoming birthday. I used the sketch from Stampin' for the Weekend and I used buttons for the Wags 'n Whiskers challenge. I also had to use circles for Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge, and NO DP for The Greeting Farm Challenge.
Here is the sketch:

Here is the card:

I used my sherbert buttons from SU and Circle Circus stamp set. If you have any other questions (wink wink) email me.

High Hopes/A Spoon Full of Sugar/Copic Creations

Here is a card that I made for 3 challenges. The first was High Hopes where we had to use 3 Flowers, 2 Brads, and 1 sentiment. I used the 3 flowers, and I used one regular brad and one Build a Brad from Stampin' Up! for the North Star.
For A Spoon Full of Sugar, we had to use the theme "Baby's First Christmas". That was pretty easy.
For Copic Creations, we had to use Gold. I used this ribbon I got from an online store, and I tried to use the yellow to make more of a gold felling.

Here is the card:

I used the another sheet from the Christmas Cocoa Specialty paper from SU. It's crazy how many cards you can get decorative back and what nots for cards. I also used my Photo Corners punch for the inside and the Modern Label punch for the back of the sentiment and the Word Window punch for the sentiment.

Thanks for checking out my work,
Maxine

Tuesday Morning Sketches/Wags n Whiskers

Here is a card that I made for the Tuesday Morning Sketches and the Wags n Whiskers Challenges. For the Tuesday Morning Sketch we had to use 3 Decorative Papers, 2 embellishments and 1 flourish. For the Wags n Whiskers challenge we had to "stich 'em up".
Here is my card:

I used the Christmas Cocoa Specialty Paper from Stampin' Up! along with my Eyelet Border Punch for the inside of the card. I hope you guys like it.

Delightful Sketches Sketch 11

Here is the cute sketch I had to work with this week for Delightful Sketches:

Here is the card that I came up with:

Once again I used up the scraps I had from the last card to do this one. I used my SU and Sizzix embossing folders. I'm trying to get all of my Christmas cards done, but I don't want them all to be the same. I just realized though that I haven't done any of my Thanksgiving card!!!! I better get started on those next week!
Thanks,
Maxine

1 Card 3 Challenges

Hola Mi Gente!!!!!
Here is a card that I made for 3 Challenges, and it is also the card that will be going to Noah on behalf of someone else.
I used the Sketch from High Hopes, curtosey of Lacey the magnificent. I also added in the "Snow much fun" from Cupcake Craft Challenge and "create a scene" from A Spoon Full of Sugar. I'm going to look into seeing if I can set up the links for the Challenge blogs. I hate not being able to do that, and I don't think you can buy anything right off of the Challenge blogs. I'll update this post with the links later if I can.
Any who, on with the show.... Here is the wonderful sketch I had to work with:

Here is the card that I made:

I used the Sizzix snow flakes and SU Petals-A-Plenty embossing folders. I also used the SU Real Read cardstock and the Christmas Cocoa Specialty Paper.

Hope you guys like it,

Card for a Friend

I wanted to make a card for a very close friend of mine. Every time I need her she is always there and most of the time my "visit" with her is to clean up some kind of mess with the courts. It's a long story, but anyway...... I wanted to make a card for her to thank her.
I also used the card for some challenges Tuesday Morning Sketches and Copic Creations. For Tuesday Sketches we had to use a sketch and for Copic Creations we had to use red hair.
Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

Once again, because of Stampin' Up! rules I can't tell you a thing about this card, but it's a cutie!!!
Thanks,
Maxine

1 Card 3 Challenges

Hola Mi Gente!!!!!

This is a card that I made for 3 challenges. The first was a sketch from A Spoon Full of Sugar, the second we had to use tags for Kraftin' Kimmie, and the last was High Hopes where we had to use snowflakes.

Because of Stampin' Up! rules, I can only tell you about the Stampin' Up! products I used, and I can no longer link to the sites where there are other people selling like product that Stampin' Up! offers. I quit doing challenges because of this, but I can hold back no longer. I will join the challenges, but if I don't qualify because I have to keep my mouth closed then so be it. I'll have fun making the cards just for your viewing!!!!

ANYWAY, back to the card. Here is the sketch that we had to use:

Here is the card that I created:

I used the Christmas Cocoa and Holiday Lounge paper from Stampin' Up!.
Thanks,
Maxine

Where I've been Part 1........

Cards for the Cure Event! Here are some of the pictures of our Cards for the Cure event that we had October 10th 2009. We were able to raise $207 for the Donna Foundation here in Florida.

Here are two photos of the Ladies hard at work and an overview of Joey's Studio.

Here is a Picture of Mary winning the GRAND PRIZE!!! All of us wanted that AMAZING apron. So lucky!
Here is a picture for the Amazing team that I am so privileged to be a part of. Everything I know I have learned from Joey. She's the one in the middle with all the bling on her apron. That's how you know who's the boss. She is an incredible upline, and I would not trade in my team for the world. Thank you SO much Joey for introducing me to this Lovable World!!!!

Here is a picture of my VERY FIRST CUSTOMER!!!!! I met Brenda at the Cards for the Cure event, and she just made my day. I was putting so much in to the Stampin' Up! business and not seeing too many results, and then she came along and showed me the light. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH BRENDA FOR SHOWING ME WHY I STARTED ALL THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!!!!

Asbury Pizza donated Pizza to feed us all and they also gave us some frequent buyer cards. If you are ever in the area, stop by and have a bite. Their Pizza is SOOOOOOO Delicious I would eat it every week if my other half would let me! ;)

We had so much fun and it was all for a Great cause. I can't wait for next year.

Maxine

Where I've been part 2.....

These are the adorable invitations I made for the party. I made 25 of each of these, and there will be matching candy cans too!!!! I blacked out some of the information..... just so there aren't any party crashers!

I LOVED the way they turned out. I ended up using crystal effects instead of clear embossing for the Cookie Monster and Elmo invitations. The embossing powder started to stick to some of the invitations, and it was getting on my nerves. The crystal effects took a while to dry, but it was where I wanted it to be and it all came out so smooth. Hope you guys have a great turn out! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CHOOSING ME TO MAKE YOUR INVITATIONS AND CANS!!!

Maxine

Where I've been part 3....

I have been putting together another FUN order for my Family back home!!! Here are the candy cans that I made using empty baby formula cans. These are 25 of Cookie Monster to go with the invitations. I still have the Elmo, Big Bird, and Bert and Ernie to go. However to cut on shipping cost, instead of sending the cans to me and them me sending them back complete; we decided that I would do all the lids for the other 75 cans and just send the wrappers back home. I really enjoyed making these, even though it was a lot of work. I think the end result was great!

Here are the cans ready to leave me. You can see part of the picture of where I photo shopped the baby in with the rest of the characters! Hope you guys enjoy them.

Here is the sketch that we had to use:

Here is the card that I made:

I used the Hous of Haunts stamp set from my Stampin' Up collection, Basic Black Cardstock, Pumpkin Pie Textured Cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock, and Cast A Spell paper. Simple card to make, and probably not my best work, but I like the way it turned out.

Card Holders/Candy Holders

Here are so ADORABLE boxes that I found in the blog world. I used the Yoyo Yellow Cardstock along with the Cast-A-Spell paper from non other than SU! I used the Summer Picnic paper for the small box.
Here are the insides of the boxes....
Hope you enjoyed this post,
Maxine

Pretty Purses and a Backpack

I came across templates for these, and I decided to make these lovely purses. You can either make them the way I did here or not put the extra oval in the center.
I used the Rasberry Tart Designer paper for the pink purse along with the Pink Passion cardstock. I used the Walk in the Park Designer Series Paper along with the Pumpkin Pie cardstock. These were all Stampin' Up! of course.
I made this cute little backpack from Loves Me Designer Paper. It was a lot harder to make this than I thought, but I didn't have all the right tools to make the holes where I needed them. There are a number of people that make this backpack so I thought that it would be cool to make it. My daughter knew what it was when I was done with it, so I don't think that I messed it up.
Thanks for taking a peek,
Maxine

Inspiration in Action Weekend Challenge

Okay, so I missed the cut off for this entry, but my camera was MIA until today. I still wanted to share this with you, because I think it is a cute card.

Here is Mrs. Gretchen's sketch:

Stamp with fun Challenge/Belli Challenge

We had to use a Autumn or Halloween theme and use things that we had laying around for the Belli Challenge and here is the sketch that we had to use for Stamp with fun:

Here is the card that I made:

I had SOO much fun with this one. The stamp sets I used were Deseos pequenitos (also available in English: Teeny Tiny Wishes) and House of Haunts stamp set from Stampin' Up!. I also used my Word Window and Photo Corners punches which are also from Stampin' Up!. I actually burnt the edges of the yellow and white of the card!!! My daughter said "Mommy mommy you can't do that!" I made sure that I let her know only adults can do this and only over water, because I was doing it over the sink. I left the ashy look on the white of the card, because I thought it just gave it more of a Halloween look. I made the candy corn all on my own by trial and error. Some of them look funny, and other look good. I'm happy with the way it turned out though.

Thanks,
Maxine

1 Card 4 Challenges

This has been a busy week for me. To save some time, I thought that I could still do my challenges, and do one card for multiple challenges.

Here was a sketch that we had to use for Stampin for the Weekend:

I also entered Cupcake Craft Challenges where we had to use Pearls and Swirls, Tuesday Morning Sketches where we had to use ribbon, and A Spoon Full of Sugar where we had to use Autumn.
Here is my card:

The stamp sets I used for this card were Baroque Motifs stamp set for the swirly background of the card and the swirly background of my pumpkin images, Autumn Harvest Stamp set for the images and Deseos Pequenitos stamp set (which is also available in English "Teeny Tiny Whishes") all from Stampin' Up!. I used my Twill Tape Ribbon in 3/4 inch and 1-1/2 inch which I colored in Autumn colors and stamped the other image on. For my punches I used the Word Windo punch for the sentiment, the Modern Label punch for the piece behind the sentiment and the Photo Corners punch for the inside of the card.

Thanks for looking,
Maxine

Thursday, September 10, 2009

I found this entry on Katharina's blog:
My friend Erin (Scrap, Stamp and be Merry) told me about a terrible accident which happened to her 13 year old neighbor Paige. She lost her arm in a boating accident recently and is now recovering in the hospital. She and her family are going through a very hard time and my heart is suffering with them. Erin is calling for help to cheer Paige up (a positive mood is the best help during recovery). And what would be better than flooding her hospital room with cards from all over the world? I already got my card ready and will post it on monday. You can read all the details on Erin's blog. It would be great if some of you would join in and send a card to Paige: Paige Welch at Boston Children's Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115, United States
This was a very sad thing for me to read. I could not imagine a child going through this. Here is the card that I made and sent to her

Hope you guys can send her a card as well.
Thanks,
Maxine

Whiff of Joy Challenge #44/Stampin for the Weekend Challenge 12

I made one card for 2 Challenges.

For the Whiff of Joy Challenge #44, I had to use the following Sketch:

For the Stmapin for the Weekend Challenge 12 we had to use the following colors:

This is the card that I came up with:

I used a lot of scraps on this one, and I used my SU Many Happy Returns stamp set for the sentiment.
See Ya in the Blog World,
Maxine

Delightful Sketches #5

Delightful Sketches has their 5th Sketch. I had a hard time with this sketch, because of the way it looks. I kept thinking that I had to use one stamped image to cover the whole rectangle! I figured something out though.

Here is the sketch that we had to use:

This is what I came up with:

I used my SU card stock and SU House of Haunts stamp set for the embossed background.

1 Card 3 Challenges

I have made the following card for 3 challenges. The first is A Spoon Full of Sugar Sketch 64 by Camilla, where we had to use the sketch. This gave me the layout for my card.
Then there is the Whiff of Joy Challenge #43 where we had to use brown, pink, and a Whiff of Joy stamp.
The last is Stampin' for the Weekend Challenge #11 where we had to use the theme "Days Gone By" with a vintage look.

Here is Camilla's sketch:

Here is my take on the sketch:

I used my paper to make her clothes and head band, because I didn't have the right colors to match the background. I used a lighter brown and pink then what I am use to, but I thought that it might add to the vintage look a little.
Thanks for looking,
Maxine

Done with the invitations

I had a request from my Sister-in-Law to make 100 Hulk invitations and 100 candy bags (50 for girls and 50 for boys) to go with the invitations. I also made little prize cans (one for a girl and the other for a boy) out of my baby's empty formula cans. This is what I came up with. I had been working on them for little under a month now.

All the Hulks were colored in by hand!!! I used 4 different greens and 2 purples. I inked all the edges of the baggies, and the cans. It was hard work, and she was my first order!!!!!! I am happy to have finished them and can't wait to see where it takes me from here.
THANKS ERIKA!!!!!!

Whiff of Joy Challenge #42

Whiff of Joy is having Challenge #42, where we had to use a sketch done by Jacqui. I used the sketch for my nephew who will be starting school again in August. He'll be going to the 3rd grade. Since I had made a card for my niece, I decided it would be nice to make him a card too.
Here is the sketch:

Here is what I came up with....

Delightful Sketches #4/SVGcuts August Challenge

Delightful Sketches is having their Sketch #4 Challenge. I had lots of fun with this sketch, which I used to make a card for my niece who will be starting Kinder this August. She always has so much fun with the cards I send her.
I am also using this card for SVGcuts. I won one of their giveaways a little while ago, which was so exciting. My daughter loved putting the fishes leaves together.

Here is Sketch#4:

Here is my take on the Sketch:

I would have put this up earlier, but I am once again suffering from migraines, and anyone with those can tell you how bad it is.

Stampin' for the Weekend Call/Stamp with fun Challenge 18

Stampin' for the Weekend is having a call for Team Members or Guest Designers. They have four spots open, and boy is everyone trying to get in on that. I wanted to make a fresh new card and put anything and everything in it. I was having trouble coming up with something good, and then I came across the Stamp with fun Challenge #18. It gave us a sketch to use, and then everything just fell into place. I just love this card, because it brings back a part of my childhood. Hearing the Mariachis play outside our house for my Grandma.
Here is the sketch we were to use:

Here is my card:

I used my new Cinco de Mayo and Dias felices stamp sets from Stampin' Up!, which for some reason show up on the Spanish catalog but won't show up on the website even when I typed the numbers in.....I'll have to give them a call. I used the card stock from Stampin' Up!, and I also used the Modern label punch from....you guessed it, Stampin' Up!.
I hoped you guys liked my card, and I hope I can snag one of those spots from Stampin for the Weekend!!!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #4

Here is Challenge #4 from Tuesday Morning Sketches. I've been trying to find a good use for this dog, and I think that I may have found it. I was thinking about using him next year, but when I saw the stars on the sketch, I thought I might as well just use him now.

Here is the wonderful sketch by Melissa:

Here is the card that I came up with.....

It is just a simple card with map pages in the back and then fire crackers after that.
Thanks for stopping by,
Maxine

Delightful Sketches #3/Cupcake Challenge 50

Here is a card that I made for Delightful Sketches #3 and Cupcake Challenge 50. This is what I pulled off of the Cupcake Challenge's website "Onto this weeks challenge which has been chosen by DT member Stephanie and she has a colour theme for you this week of Green, Pink, Brown and as Stephanie loves Animals & Flowers, she would also like to see these included on your creations". I tried to add a little bit of everything. I only had one animal though. I hope that was enough.
For the Delightful Sketches Challenge, we had to use this sketch:

Here is what I came up with......

I used the new in colors from Stampin' Up! and used my new hostess set. I just love that bird!!!
